 It's Kaylee
« Thread Started on Dec 7, 2008, 12:41pm »

Kaylee skipped towards the lab, her thoughts focusing on only one thing: Pokemon. It wasn't that she didn't really want anything - just that she wasn't sure of which Pokemon to choose. She had labored over the sheets that they gave out over the night, but in the end she gave up and went to sleep. Now that she was out here and still not sure of which Pokemon to get, she wa feeling as if she should've done what she had started to do.

"Well, there's gotta be a person there," she breathed to herself as she finally got to the lab. Taking a deep breath, she knocked on the door loudly. She was hoping that no one was there. But she hoped that someone was there. Oh, her thoughts were so muddled and she was really quite confused at the moment. Extremely confused about mainly everything that she was supposed to do here.

Casey! Get that for me!

The yelling could be heard through the door as Professor Spruce's daughter, just nine years old, grumbled and got up from watching TV to answer the door. The short brunette poked her head out, then closed the door again.

MO-OM! Someone's here to get a pokemon!

Then she swung the door open again.

Come on. You can sit at the kitchen table while she finishes up down in the lab.

Then, Casey darted back over to the sofa to watch what was on the television; A pokemon match. There was rummaging around in the basement before a slightly taller lady, in her forties or so, came up the stairs from the basement, where the bulk of the lab was. She had a bag full of pokeballs, along with a smaller bag that was far from overflowing, in her hands. She placed them down and grabbed a chair.

-They're oddish heads, by the way. I had fun with them :P -

"Uh... okay..." Kaylee nodded, her eyes wide as she added to her mental list that the house of the Professor was rather... messy. "I'm sitting at the kitchen table..." she thought to herself. She grimaced. It wasn't exactly the best place to be, and she didn't love the stuff that was piled around in the house. Although she knew the place wasn't exactly dirty, it was quite weird to see something of the sort in a Professor's house. Of course, not all houses for the professor were nice shiny labs, but she had been expecting something more than a girl and her mom in a messy house.

"Hello, I'm Kaylee," she said, smiling as she reached her hand out to shake. "I'd like a Pokemon, I think?" Her head furrowed as she thought of the still-big problem that had stunted her the other night. That hadn't really been the best day of her life, but at least she had what she had thought she would do.

Kaylee was wondering about the girl. Was she the Professor's daughter? Probably. She mentally told herself to be quiet and kicked herself in her head. She shouldn't be thinking about that. She should be thinking all about which Pokemon because really... she needed to do that. It was important, and quite crucial too. How would she go on in Derata if she didn't have a good idea or something of the sort? Then she would never be able to get a Pokemon and venture on through the routes and towns. Unfair. Kaylee crossed her legs and uncrossed them, desperate to at least get some thought into her mind.

[[xD;; Now I notice...]]

Figured that much.

The professor grinned and placed the smaller bag on the table. She opened it and tipped the contents out gently. A slim red machine, the pokedex, came out first, along with a case with a chip in it. Following that, were five empty pokeballs.

There's the stuff we start you off with. The chip that collects data on pokemon is already in the pokedex, and there's another empty chip space on the bottom of the machine. We give you a free phone chip, so you can call whoever. You can get other chips just about anywhere, and they do almost anything. Some are helpful, some are just games. But, I'll leave you to find out what they all do. Now, which pokemon is it you think you want? We've got both male and female of most of the starting pokemon, if you'd like to choose gender as well, of course.

She spoke fast, and got directly to the point. Most people would think it was because she was rushing to get back to something, but, in fact, she always spoke fast and she always got straight to the point. It was just how she was.
