Ren's personality doesn't in the slightest match his Pokemon of choice. He's calm, cool, collected, and lastly, rational. He's always got a plan, and he does so by thinking it out. Ren's life knows no luck, so he has to depend on good old strength and smarts. He's a bit of a domineering person, his large stature enforces that, but his personality just dominates it. He's protective, and cold in most cases.

Yet, everyone has their soft spots. Because of his past, Ren has an impeccable love of children. His protective side is shown most clearly there. There are many stories in Lavaridge where children will be bullied and he will step in with a stern look to the bully's face, and his intimidation levels are enough to make sure it would stop. He's got the type of personality you would expect from an older brother, in all. Maybe a bit of a wild side, girl-loving, (But not so much to be a womanizer.) protective, strong, stern, and focused.

Ren always knew he was going to do something grand with Pokemon. Since a child he had ways with them, he loved using his dad's multiple types of Pokemon. He grew up in a house that revolved around Pokemon. His mother and father met on their travels, his mother a breeder while his father was a trainer. He was the oldest, having a younger sister seven years younger than him. He grew up having a normal life, and he started training at the age of twelve, with an assortment of Pokemon. By the time he made it back, he was a master. The next step was a gym.

But people make enemies on their long road to victory. Ren was no exception.

Ren made a bit of a special enemy. A small gang with the interest to take Pokemon out of the hands of everyone and ultimately destroy them. Of course Ren wouldn't stand for this, so with a few other trainers, he brought the bulk of them down. The few that did remain decided to do something horrible. After Ren had been back in Lavaridge for a good year, and was about twenty, a few of the members of the gang broke into his house and attempted to drown his entire family. A bit of a sick joke at the meaning of Ren's name and the fact that they were in Lavaridge. By the time he got home, he was only able to save his father, but his mother and younger sister was dead.

Needless to say, the house burnt down, with the gang members in it. Ren could hardly talk after it, and still doesn't much. Afterwards, he decided to take up the gym job, filing away his assorted Pokemon and releasing his water Pokemon all together. He now is the gym leader and Lavaridge, it's been a few years since his mother and sister died, but he still has a tough time looking at a body of water or even taking a shower.

+ Women. On that note of 'children' he's quite the woman-lover. Not a womanizer. Oh no, he likes relationships.

- Water. He fears it. As in 'paralyzed' by it.
- Crime. It's petty, idiotic, and frankly sick.
- Overly clean places. Such as funeral homes, or morgues.

SECRETS ;;

- He is looking for love in this time of his life. He hates to admit it, because it would be admitting vulnerability, but he's ready to fall.
- Ren can't even swim at this point. He'll freeze up and likely drown.
