pride and j o y[/blockquote] ▂▂▂▂▂▂▂ She really was terrified to look at it. She stood on the very edge of Pallet Town, just ready to get going on Route One, but she had yet to even look at her new companion. Bianca, a Quirky little Pokemon. She was clearly a problem child, but of course that made Jam want her. She indeed loved a challenge, even if the challenge would get her shocked a few times.... Oh screw it, she wanted to meet this Pokemon now.
Retrieving the Pokeball she glared at it fondly. Anyone could promise you that Jam could indeed glare fondly at you. It was a weird mix of determination, frustration, and friendship. Glancing around, Jam moved to a more open space, still at the lip of Route One, and unleashed the Pikachu.
"Hey there, Bianca." The name she had chosen for her was a bit of a joke. If you were literature-savvy you would know why, and if you didn't, Jam may be prone to letting a world of education out on you. Streaching for a second, Jam dropped to her knees, looking into the eyes of the Pikachu. Weather or not this was a good idea, she wouldn't know. All she knew is that this Pokemon was hers, and eventually, they would get along. They were very alike, after all, "I'm Jam. I like you. So I picked you." The staring match went on, but it turned into more of a study session than anything.
"Alright, miss Bianca, I can tell you are a lot like me. Scrutinizing, quirky, but fun and a good friend..." She paused, considering the value of her friends, "Hell, you probably rebelled from your... Entire family. I wouldn't be surprised. We'll do great things, Bianca." Jam dropped from her knees to her butt, still studying the Pokemon before her, It's nice out and it's early. Let's just hang out. Get to know eachother. At this, Bianca let out a tiny little squeak of Pika and curled up on Jam's stomach. She did know it was a little early for a complete victory, but this battle had been won for sure.
Maybe having Joy in her didn't hurt in the end.

Hmm, this day had started out bad and was continuing to be that way. Thus far she'd had a nasty run in with some beedril after Sparx had been a little too curious. She adored the little pokemon but sometimes he was just too naive! It was so annoying at times! After they had escaped without serious harm they'd gone to rest in a small cave. It was quite nice, nothing was going wrong... that is, until Sparx had found some zubat and golbat resting in the top of the cave. Eager to try out his thundershock the pokemon had set all of the bat pokemon loose. Screeching and flying all over the place they headed out of the cave. However, Kaelynn had got a few bruises from some of the pokemon had hadn't been flying as well. After that, when you'd think nothing could get any worse... it did. While walking through a forest they'd come across a sleeping Teddiursa. Sparx (yet again) had decided to go up and play with the little pokemon. It had been fine at first but then the mother showed up... Let me just say that Ursaring are not very nice when their young are messed with...
So now Sparx was plodding along beside his trainer with a guilty expression on his face. Who wouldn't after all the stuff they just got into? Kaelynn was walking, or rather limping, at a rather slow pace. She had saved Sparx from getting the brunt of the mad mother's attack at the cost of a huge bruise on her leg. It was painful and it hurt her to walk but at least the mark hadn't been gotten in vain... Her pokemon was safe. Although, she was quite pissed at the moment. All of those stupid mishaps could have been avoided! She should have put the little pichu back in his pokeball but she was determined to have him outside of it like some other people did their pokemon. She was actually quite fond of him and his tendency to get everyone in trouble.
While limping along the path she saw that she was approaching a town. By its small size it was probably Pallet Town. She hadn't been here before but that was alright. She'd just stay for a little while and rest then she'd be on her way again. Her leg was starting to bother her pretty bad. She stopped and sat down on the path to take a look a it. While walking the skin had turned a livid purple... just perfect. Standing the teenager began walking again when she noticed someone right in the way... She wasn't in the mood of going around anyone so there was only one thing to do. Trying to stand at her full height although it didn't work very well since that put weight on her leg. However, that wasn't the point. She was just trying to look tough... which she did a lot of. "Move..." Her voice wasn't impolite or angry but it was also devoid of friendliness. You could even say that it was emotionless. She wasn't in the mood to deal with anyone right now.
